We are proud to support our local community and in May, 2022, we awarded over $30,000in college scholarships, high school art competition, and teacher grants. ACADEMIC & VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS Application Deadline is March 23, 2023
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION LINK (Academic scholarships are for those continuing education in a chosen academic field.) VOCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION LINK (Vocational scholarships are for those continuing education in a chosen trade field.) OBJECTIVE: To provide scholarship funds for continuing education in a chosen academic field. APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY - Student:
Transcript must show proof of residence in one of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District zip codes (92806, 92807, 92331, 92835, 92870, 92871, 92886 or 92887).
Must be an enrolled Senior attending an accredited high school for the entire 2022-2023 school year.
Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for Academic and 2.0 GPA for Vocational scholarships.
Will begin college in the Fall Semester of 2023.
Application must be reviewed and signed by the School Counselor to certify grades and enrollment.
AWARDS:
$500 - $2,000 Scholarships (Number of winners to be determined by YLWC).
JUDGING:
Essay content (addresses “Write about a time when you were asked to lead or take charge in a situation.” theme, well-written, compelling and engaging)
Essay organization (includes grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure)
GPA
Community Service and/or Work Experience
Number of IB/AP/Honors Classes (for Academic Scholarships only)
