OBJECTIVE:
To provide scholarship funds for continuing education in a chosen academic field.
APPLICANT ELIGIBILITY:
- Student transcript must show proof of residence in one of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District zip codes (92806, 92807, 92331, 92835, 92870, 92871, 92886 or 92887).
- Student must be an enrolled Senior attending an accredited high school for the entire 2023-2024 school year.
- Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Student will begin college in the Fall Semester of 2024.
- Student Application must be reviewed and signed by the School Counselor to certify grades and enrollment.
- $1,000 - $2,000 Scholarship (Number of winners to be determined by the YLWC).
- 25% Essay content (addresses “Write about a time when you were asked to lead or take charge in a situation.”; well-written, compelling and engaging)
- 25% Essay organization (includes grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure)
- 20% GPA
- 20% Number of IB/AP/Honors Classes
- 10% Community Service and/or Work Experience
- March 29, 2024 – Final date for receipt of Application and ALL forms (no exceptions)
